I got tagged awhile back from Shari at Meandering Missive and I finally got it finished!
If you’ve been tagged, copy this paragraph and then write a blog entry with 6 weird facts/things/habits about yourself. Also say who tagged you. At the end, choose 6 other people to be tagged. No tag backs.”
1. I hate milk except non-homogenized milk, and milk from Korea. I did not realize I hated drinking milk because I did not like the taste of homogenized milk, or maybe the way it is pasteurized? Hmm still finding out my dislikes and likes of milk.
2. Another milk fact, I must have milk ice cold. Yes, I sometimes will put ice in my milk to facilitate this. I place my milk bottle on the bottom shelf and usually near the back of the refrigerator to keep it cold.
3. I really hate cilantro, and have been known to sit there and methodically pick every little green piece of if out of my food. But then again sometimes I will try to ignore it, if is there and try to get past the nasty taste to eat some salsa! LOL Psst. Between you and me it is disgusting in taste, and I have tried really hard to like it, and at this point I still can’t enjoy the herb.
4. I used to solve really hard math problems in my dreams. If I was having a hard time on a math problem I would go to sleep, and dream. The dream centered on the problem, and in the dream I will usually solve the problem. Now this doesn’t mean I was a great math student. There isn’t enough time to solve math problems in your sleep. Oh yeah sometimes it worked for chemistry too.
5. I am in love with Perilla frutescens; my favourite one is the “Korean†type with large broad leaves, and purple green undersides. I love the smell, and the taste of them, and I look forward to them every year in my garden. There is something about the smell and taste of this plant that is so addictive; to me that I swear it must be what catnip is to cats!
6. I dance when no one is looking. I dance sometimes when cooking dinner. I dance when I think I am alone. This has caused me some embarrassment when I find out I am not alone. Now there is my public dancing and private dancing, and well I don’t think you should be subjected to the private one, or maybe it is the public one…I have to rethink this dancing thing

Hmmm Boba Fett, whom can he be hunting?
A Dapper rabbit.
AHHH Robot!
Actually he was a great sport. I had trouble with my camera and he posed and posed and patiently waited til I got the gremlin out of my camera!
They won several awards at the Masquerade!
I did not think I had a picture of them but apprently DH went running around the con to get me a pic! Thanks DH!
And last but not the least DH’s costume from the back!
There were a lot of impressive costumes this year, but unfortunately I missed getting a lot of photographs. It is hard to take all the photographs of all the wonderful costumes. I still have some more picts to post later.
Sorry for the sporadic posts, but I am so very busy, and I will be going to Michigan in July.

I have been asked several times for the recipe for waffles, and finally here is one of the recipes we use to make our waffles. These waffles are very light, and tasty and one of our favourites. Also you can use all A.P. flour, but we like a mix of King Arthur’s unbleached white flour, and whole wheat white flour.
BLUEBERRY WAFFLES!
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 C warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat white flour/whole wheat
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoon of ground Cinnamon
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or 1/8 teaspoon of lemon oil (these are optional)
1 & 3/4 cups buttermilk
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 Cups of blueberries or other fruit
DIRECTIONS:
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water for about 5 to 10 minutes
In a large bowl, mix together the flours, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, sugar and salt and mix well. Add the yeast mixture, eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil and the extracts if you desire. Stir until just smooth, and gently fold in blueberries. The batter should slowly start to bubble. Oil the waffle pan. Pour 1/4-1/2 cup of batter (it will depend on your waffle maker) onto hot waffle iron. Cook until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes (this also depends on your waffles maker and how crispy you like your waffles. Serve hot with fresh fruit, powdered sugar, whipcream, maple syrup, butter or whatever takes your fancy.
These are great with the saltiness of bacon and the sweet taste of the waffle…Yum!

As you can see from the first post about food that it was terrible, but rest assured that DH and I thought ahead and brought our own food. It was a good thing we did, because we could not have afforded to eat three meals inside the hotel. Dh and I had bought cold cuts from our favourite meat purveyor of meats Dittmer’s Gourmet Meats and Wurst-Haus, and veggies enough to make a salad with. Not to mention a huge watermelon, milk, creamer, sugar, Peet’s ground coffee, and other provisions.
The first meal of the day is breakfast, and we had breakfast to beat the band and give you a heart attack! Dittmer’s bacon and fried eggs; the eggs were fried in the bacon fat. Yum…
Bacony Eggs
One of the glorious foods we ate, smoked turkey sandwich on potato bread…Oh YEAH!
Smokin’ Turkey Sandwich
The sandwich was so tasty, and so cheap! LOL The funny thing is that I forgot the knife to cut the tomatoes so DH had to use his really tiny leatherman (he keeps it with his car keys) blade to cut the tomatoes. Yeah, lets say it took some concentration to get nice thick slices. Later that day we stopped by the house and picked up a much bigger knife.
Oh another morning we had blueberry waffles, with what else, Dittmer’s bacon!
Blueberry waffle. YUM!
And a mostly eaten waffle with some bacon…
Blurry waffles and bacon, but they were much more tasty than they look here.
Sorry about the blurry bacon and waffles pictures, I started to wolf everything down, but then realized I had to take a picture! Oh the waffles were so good, even though I forgot the syrup, jam, and/ or the powdered sugar. Yeah you can see a trend here can’t you? I forgot a lot of things at the house…
The waffles were full with blueberries and nice and crunchy which is the way they should be! The saltiness of the bacon and the sweetness of the berries in the waffles were so delicious I am making myself hungry as I write.
Not to say that all the food at Baycon was bad, I do have some good food at the restaurant and snack bar which I will have to post soon.
