Well Baycon is over, and there are still a lot of things I did not get to share with all of you!
First, let me tell you about the psychedelic carpet, and not to mention our legs! I know you are so impressed, but this carpet was interesting!
Look at the carpet, wait the legs are blocking the view!
I think hotels decorate the floors this way on purpose to hyptnotize the customers allowing them to charge whatever they want
Actually having a hotel room during con was a life saver mainly because the party rages on well past midnight. Not to mention that we got a discount by booking through Baycon.
Yes, we geeks sometimes eat terribly, and unfortunately DH had a hankering for some pizza, and we decided to get his pizza, and for me a hot dog.
Hmmm..Pizza
That is DH is pointing to the two measly slices of pizza that he received. The sausage slice being free. DH gave the servers a tip, since the service was good even with all the lunatics they were dealing with, he gave them a tip. They were so greatful they gave him another slice. Well maybe it was a curse because the pizza slices were terrible! I think the pizza’s had been sitting around for awhile, and the free slice was worse than the pepperoni. The crust was bland and soft. It had no chew or resistance.
My hot dog…
Hot doggity
I have to say that my hotdog was much better than DH’s Pizzas but the bun brought down the taste of the hotdog. The bun was almost bland, but had a doughy taste, and was unpleasant with the hot dog. The chips were good, and the soda refreshing…Well I did fill out the suggestion box for improvement, so next year it should be interesting.
You would be so proud I was tagged with a foodie, and tea snob, on my badge for Baycon.

***GRUMBLE*** I had finished my post about saturday at Baycon and it all went and flew away into cyber hell….So I will try to quickly recap.
Missed the masquerade which I am bummed about because the best costumes are shown there. I am hoping that someone in cyberspace will post them!
I did see some awesome costumes like the lego Obi-wan and the Sith Lord. Too bad they dissapeared while I had camera malfunction *sigh*
Dh and I were dressed this con…I in a corset, and jacket, and well…DH, well…ummm…*FAINT* I will have to post pictures sometime soon! Unfortunately I cannot post pics while here, so you will have to wait.
I went and heard the Bonhoff’s concert, and they tend to do rock and roll filks, and it is awesome. You should hear their parody, “Come to Mordor”, but I can’t remember the original rock song it is parodying…*sigh*
You should look of filk on google, and you will get some interesting things. Ask two filkers what filk is and you get four answers.
My highlight of the day was getting Darth Vader to say he was “A Pretty Pretty Princess”. Yeah I still cracking up from that! Dh thinks Ihave read too many Devil’s Panties comics, but then realizes I love being silly at ‘Con…*sigh* But I have to give credit where it is due, Devil’s Panties gave me the idea! THANKS!
Pictures will have to wait till I GET HOME!

Overheard by D.H. in the Hotel elevator lobby…
“Donner party of 34…Donner Party of 33…Donner party of 32…”
Conversation between friends in the wee hours of the morning…
Me: Oh yeah you are so going to go through withdrawals.
Her: This will be the longest time I have not been able to call him.
Me: That’s okay I will tie you up to the bed and feed you bacon.
DH: Isn’t that they would do on the party floor?
overheard by a friend:
A guy walkes into the lounge for some food.
Woman: Are you a turkey or roast beef sorta guy? Oh! My butt is vibrating! (Her cell phone was located in the back pocket.)
I had an awesome time, and heard some filk, went to a concert, talked to some friends, and posted on my blog. I will try to get some pictures up soon!

Sorry everyone for not posting, but I have been busy gearing up for Baycon. Some of you are wondering what is this Baycon; it is a local San Jose, CA Science fiction and fantasy convention. Yes you are in the presence of a scifi/fantasy nerd; get over it, and lets move on…
If you would like to know more about Baycon check out their website here Baycon ‘06.
I will be posting pictures! Yes pictures! I had to go out and buy another card reader **grumble** the old one is MIA. So, expect pictures soon, that is if the wireless here at the hotel keeps up. Hmmm… Maybe you shouldn’t see the pics, I mean they might scar you…*wink*
Oh yes I have also been amusing myself by reading this online comic…Devil’s Panties-”No! It is not Santanic Porn”

Wow, is all I can say. Joy seems to be multiplying in my circle of friends, and I am so flabbergasted, and my cup runneth over. There has been so much joy, that I might be featured in the seven o’clock evening news.
“Tonight a woman has popped with joy, more in the seven o’clock evening news.â€
I cannot talk of other peoples’ joys as they would like to remain somewhat private but these two am sure they won’t mind.
First, let me tell you that my friend Jo of TRULY THANKFUL has finally received a house. Now she has been praying hard, and working hard to get this house. The house has a well, and she was supposedly only getting a half-acre, and at the last minute received almost two acres. I am so happy that the Rutherford family has finally bought, a wonderful house to garden, and possibly a stepping-stone to their farm.
The next person I want to talk about is a wonderful woman Clare of CLARE’S ANNOUNCEMENT AND RING She has been a wonderful, and supportive friend, and fellow blogger. Not to mention that she and Casey are sweet as can be, and I wish them both long, and happy lives together with their mischievous cat, Kiri.
Casey the ring is beautiful you did a good job!
I am blessed that I am allowed to share in these wonderful peoples’ happiness, and to call them friends!
CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN TO
JO, MIKE, KIDS, AND NOT TO MENTION PEPPER!
CLARE. CASEY, AND KIRI!
God Bless and Protect you always!

I have been sitting on this post for two weeks or more, and I thought I would finally post.
In the news it seems that nuclear plants are going to be in our horizon to help solve our energy crisis. I just can’t seem to get Three Mile Island and Chernobyl out of my mind. Not to mention that the cost of building new plants is quite expensive. Why could we not have spent the money to become more fuel efficient and investing in alternate fuels?
I mean GM makes cars for Brazil, and they use ethanol for their cars. How hard is it to switch? Too many businesses are invested in oil, and they have deep pockets, which our leaders dip into from time to time. Right now since the price of gas is so high, our leaders have to do something, but I think they are heading in the wrong direction.
Nuclear plants would pose security risks, in this post 9/11 environment, and it is something the United States cannot afford to keep. Just think what could happen if terrorist get a hold of one or destroy one in the worst way possible. Even without the threat of terrorist how reliable is it that nothing like Chernobyl, and Three Mile Island would not happen? I see too many problems at this point to restart the nuclear plants. I rather see other fuels and other options explored.
I have heard on the radio that some environmental groups are behind the nuclear plants to help decrease the green house gasses. I agree we should decrease the amount of gasses in the air, but do we need to have a double edged sword. I rather nudge the public to consume less, use more public transportation, have governments make efficient and cost effective public transportation, the businesses to increase their efficiency in products and manufacturing, and our whole society to look for the long term and safer fuels.
We could finance the study into ethanol as a fuel (like Brazil) or we can look into soy beans for fuel. We could invest into solar power to make solar panels more efficient, or wind power for that matter. We can rethink how our cities are built, and have areas where cars are not allowed and allow pedestrians to walk or take public transportation. Besides our society needs to get out, and walk more on our own two feet. (That’s another rant that I will not go into here)
Maybe I am wrong but there seems to be safer ways to get our fuel fixation than using nuclear fuels. This is just something I wanted to put out here, and see what other people think. I think for now I have run out of things to say. *wink*

The sun was slowly heading its journey to the west, and DH and I were driving in the car with the windows down talking about life, and our future.
DH cocks his head toawards me. “Wouldn’t it be great if my job offered me an assignment to Greece?”
“Yeah!”
DH laughs and he starts waving his hands. “It would be even better if they offered one of those white painted villas with the blue domes.”
I quickly glance over at him, but I have look away because I am driving.
“You totally want to do this don’t you? You really want to go live in Greece!”
DH looks at me like I am crazy. “Yeah wouldn’t it be fun!”
I grin like a fool. “YES! Think about the food!” I can feel the excitement build up in the car.
“Not just the food think about the evenings! The parties at night, the music!” DH eyes are bright as they see the future and not the here and now.
“Yeah, and the little town gatherings with food and stuff!” DH exclaimed bringing a vivid almost real future into view.
My mind wanders to the beautiful azure water near that white villa, surrounding the beautiful little isle where our lives are lived out.
“…And the WATER!”
DH’s tone turns serious ” No! I don’t think you’ll like the water. It will probably give you the shits!”
Silence…
“No! I mean THE WATER, as in THE SEA!”
We both burst out laughing!
DH turns to me and laughs. “You are going to put this on your blog!”
I cannot stop laughing, and luckily no one is on the one lane road. “You know this is one of the things I really love being married to you!”
Both of us were laughing as we drove off into the sunset.
