March 2006

Sorry everyone, I am so busy with catching up with school because of the time off with the In-Laws. I have been busy taking 2 exams for the last week, and I still have 4 more exams to take before the final. So I am so sorry to say that I will be busy until then, and as soon as I get the pictures loaded I will try to show you some of the fun we had. Wish me luck, and hopefully I will be back soon!

Today was interesting in the least. It really started off really bad. My fish, Jumpin’ Jimmney, aka Mr. Fishy, Fishy, Monster, Punk and Pig, caught velvet; a protozoan infection and died this morning. He was part of our family, and those who are not fish people skip to the next paragraph. We here at the Milgwimper house really miss him greatly. The fish tank is empty, and the house isn’t just right. He has lived (I hope) 4 years for the most part happily. I keep telling myself that four years is a lot for a Betta and that is not counting the year in the fish shop. I know previously I said he was 3 years plus, but that’s because I didn’t want to take the break out the fingers and the memory banks to figure out how long he has been with us. I just miss him terribly. :(

This is the only photo I can find at this time. Unfortunately the photo is blurry. Sorry!

We will miss you!

DH took me out for breakfast at Ikea. I had a wonderful time; we had their complete breakfast with a dessert sampler and some yogurt. The yogurt was a little too sweet. The coffee quite warming and smooth; I loved the potatoes, and the very paper-thin bacon. The eggs were a little weird in texture, but still pretty good. The bad, and I mean bad. The Swedish Pancakes, were the most disgusting things I have ever eaten! I have had some bad Swedish pancakes, but these were terrible. I couldn’t even drown the taste of them with huge amounts of lingonberry sauce and butter. DH tried valiantly to eat more than two bites, and failed. If you decide on the breakfast skip the pancakes.

Onward to shopping! I got a really cool egg slicer that does the standard cut, and quarters. I have a blood red, and black hole colored cutting board. MUAHAHAHA I can rule the world…Oh hmmm wrong topic. Of course I raided the food area, and we ate Daim (chocolate covered toffee bars) candies, and had a really yummy orange soda, not very sweet. Right up my alley. I had to restrain myself from picking up the low salt potato chips, but now I regret that action.

Went to the Pick’ n Pull (auto grave yard where you can cannibalize another car to fix yours.) and found a part for DH’s car that would have cost us 300 dollars or more, for 15 dollars. Now we have to find out which sensor is out, because the car is still sick.

I finally received my oven; the guys couldn’t come yesterday because there was a rainstorm and a huge sewer leak. I am not sure I will have the time to bake anything because I am in the midst of trying to clean house before the in laws come. But I did test out the burners (it still electric but hey its BRAND SPANKING NEW!), and made some mean homemade meatball sandwiches!

Last night in the storm the tree behind our apartment blew down. It was scary. Dh and I were sitting and reading our books, when we heard a large cracking noise and we both jumped away from the window. Luckily the tree did not bust through, but it was down for the count. Also another huge tree in the big field blew down. They must have been rotting because they all busted near the ground. DH saved a piece of wood from the tree as a keepsake.

Well I need to go back and clean the house and mourn my fish. God Bless you All, and Keep you Safe and Healthy!
